Jaime Collado and Megan Mendoza. Local doulas. Birth and newborn care experts

Jaime Collado and Megan Mendoza are local doulas. They have a passion for working with expecting families in Central Oregon. They believe everyone has the right to feel valued and supported during pregnancy, labor and postpartum. This is how they came to open Central Oregon Doulas. Aside from helping more families get access to support, they teach monthly birth education and newborn care classes and hold donation-based infant wearing classes.

“Community is everything” says Jaime “So many new parents here don’t live near their families. I love being able to connect new families so they can grow their community".”

  • Working with Jaime was the best decision we made when becoming parents. She guided my husband and me through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum with such compassion, patience, wisdom, and love. She is incredibly nurturing and has a way of helping you feel calm and supported in any scenario. I felt completely comfortable with her when I was at my most vulnerable. Not only did she know how to help me take care of myself and my newborn, she also listened with such empathy as I talked through the emotional journey of early parenthood. I highly recommend Jaime. Working with her was the biggest gift. She helped me become a mother; and I will always be grateful to her for that. Jaime is someone we will always stay in touch with. She feels like family now.

  • I cannot say enough about working with Megan, we knew from the minute we met her that she would be the perfect doula for us. There is so much to navigate around preparing for baby, birth and all the everchanging COVID regulations. I felt overwhelmed with all the information/preparation and she guided us through and helped calm our new parent nerves.We were induced and in the hospital for a significant amount of time and Megan was by our side the whole time until our baby boy was born. She was always by our side offering ideas to help support both of us whether it was emotional support, knowledge, positioning or the many many hours of lower back massage I needed since my back was cramped up. I really can't imagine going through birth without her calm energy. We felt like we got top notch care from St. Charles having her with us.Beyond her professionalism and responsiveness, she has a big heart and passionate about what she does. It felt like a friend by your side throughout the whole process, I would not want anyone else there with us.

  • We were luckily enough to take Megan’s virtual birth class via Zoom. We learned so much! Megan was very knowledgeable about everything from early pregnancy all the way to birth, delivery, postpartum care and even how partners can support and comfort the birthing person. She was able to answer all of the wild/weird questions that come up while learning about labor and giving birth. If we are ever in Bend, we would love to join her in-person class as well!
